Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)

Location

Mission, TX | Freestanding Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a Freestanding Emergency Department setting with a 1:4 patient ratio
  • Perform proficient vascular access procedures including tough sticks, large bore IVs, and blood cultures
  • Conduct triage, patient monitoring, and emergency response procedures including code blue, stroke, STEMI, and sepsis protocols
  • Operate point-of-care (POC) lab equipment and respond to precipitous delivery situations
  • Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
  • Float to other FSED/ED areas as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum of 2 years of FSED or ED experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tough sticks, large bore IVs, blood cultures, triage, and patient monitoring
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS, and CPI
  • Ability to work every other weekend as part of the regular schedule

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • More than 2 years of ED or FSED experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight in a fast-paced emergency environment
  • Flexible team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Prior experience with Meditech EMR
