Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Emergency Dept with 2+ years ED experience and NM or compact RN licensure for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Details

  • Level III trauma center Emergency Department with 48 beds plus flex space
  • Team nursing and Pod System with a dedicated social worker and unit educator
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 in Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
  • Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric patients
  • Common diagnoses include substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
  • Utilizes Zoll defibrillator, Level One blood transfuser, QinFlow blood warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC devices, and ultrasound guided IV
  • Cerner EHR system used
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Minimum of two weekends per schedule
  • No call requirements
  • No float requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC (AHA accredited)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 2 years ED experience preferred
  • RN ADN education required
  • Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of trauma, medical, and psychiatric cases
  • Facility accepts various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases flown in due to its regional location
  • Work alongside an ED manager and clinical coordinator for unit support
  • First time travelers may be considered for this position
