Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level III trauma center, requiring 2 years of ED experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

  • Level III trauma center emergency department with 48 beds plus flex space
  • Team nursing and Pod system with dedicated social worker and unit educator support
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 in Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
  • Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases
  • Uses Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and ultrasound-guided IV equipment
  • Cerner EHR used for charting
  • 12-hour shifts from 7A-7P
  • Minimum of two weekends per schedule required
  • No call requirements
  • No floating requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC (must be AHA-issued)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
  • RN ADN required as minimum education level
  • Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required
  • Common diagnoses treated include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care within a team nursing and Pod system model
  • Work alongside a dedicated social worker and unit educator for departmental support
  • Facility receives various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases via air transport due to its regional location
  • Hospital is a 198-bed facility serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
