Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessment, triage using ESI levels, and prioritization of care across a diverse patient population spanning neonates through older adults
  • Provide emergency nursing care for conditions including trauma, cardiac events, sepsis, neurological emergencies, respiratory conditions, and more in a 16-bed Emergency Department
  • Execute resuscitation efforts utilizing code carts (adult and pediatric), defibrillators, GE cardiac monitors, ECG, and rapid transfuser equipment
  • Manage fast track patients and perform splinting and immobilization as needed
  • Document patient care accurately using the Paragon ED electronic health record system
  • Float to other units as needed on an occasional basis

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
  • Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with moderate sedation in both adult and pediatric populations
  • Proficiency in cardioversion and transcutaneous pacing
  • Familiarity with Acute Stroke Ready Hospital protocols and Chest Pain Center standards
  • Flexible, dependable, and adaptable personality well-suited to a fast-paced emergency environment
