Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department contract position requiring TNCC and CPI certification on a night shift schedule.

Details

  • 26-bed Emergency Department with 4:1 patient ratios
  • Night shift 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 13-week assignment
  • Weekend coverage required (4 weekend days per schedule)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Unit equipment includes ventilators, EKG, and Teleneuro monitoring
  • Level 3 EMR system used
  • Typical procedures include IV insertion, EKG, in-and-out Foley catheterization, lumbar puncture, central line care, moderate sedation, and cardioversion

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the Emergency Department specialty
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • One professional reference required
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting
  • Work alongside a team including CNCs, HUCs, RNs, and PCTs/Paramedics on each shift
  • Scrub color requirement: cobalt/royal blue only
  • Team players with an energetic, collaborative attitude are a strong fit for this unit
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
  • Permanent positions are also available on this unit for candidates interested in long-term employment
