Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Services

Position Overview

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in an Emergency Services setting. The scheduled shift will be from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM, with rotating weekends included. This role does not require on-call duties.

Unit Information

• Location: Austin, TX
• Number of Beds: 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track, 5 behavioral health
• Number of Staff: 111
• Patient Ratios:
  • 1:4 Emergency Department (ED)
  • 1:5 Behavioral Health (BH)
  • 1:3 Cardiac/Trauma
• Type of Equipment: Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers, Stryker stretchers
• EMR System: MEDITECH

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, the following qualifications are required:

• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS
• Preference for candidates with:
• • Experience with MEDITECH
  • Trauma experience
  • Inpatient care experience
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training

Typical Procedures

The Registered Nurse will be involved in a variety of procedures, including but not limited to:

• Splinting
• Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Central monitoring
• Trauma assists
• Placement of central lines
• Airway support
• Behavioral health de-escalation
• Use of Morgan lens
• Rapid infuser operations
• Resuscitation efforts
