Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN with a current NY RN license and prior travel nursing experience for a night shift assignment.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting in a hospital environment
  • Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts
  • 13-week contract length
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses MEDITECH EMR system

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Required MEDITECH EMR experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills required
  • Ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
  • Ability to assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual
  • Ability to safely use lifts to move patients
  • Ability to function effectively in high-stress situations with strong problem-solving skills

Additional Information

  • May be required to assume charge nurse duties
  • Must successfully complete a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and become defibrillation certified within six months of employment
  • Must become IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation
  • Radius rule applies, with candidates required to live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
