Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring MA RN licensure and telemetry skills.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
• Patient population includes Psych/Behavioral Health ED cases
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:30
• Assignment length of 26 weeks with contract options ranging 13-26 weeks
• 36 or 48 hours per week options available
• Union facility requires availability to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required (permanent, in hand)
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required, 2+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in respiratory care and management of ventilated patients
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Triage skills preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of ventilated and dysrhythmic patients
• Must pass a medication exam and a telemetry exam during orientation, each with only 1 attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
• Study materials will be provided during the compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs) to help prepare for exams
• Holiday coverage required for 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) to be included in RTO
• Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and those accepting 26-week contracts
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
