Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience, a compact or MD license, and prior travel assignment experience.
Details
- Work in a general Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Charge and triage responsibilities required after unit-specific training
- Performs IV starts and phlebotomy
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- On-call required every other weekend and holiday rotation as necessary
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience within the last 7 years
- At least 1 previous travel assignment required for consideration
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, and TNCC
- Previous charge and preceptor experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with emergency medications and continuous IV sedation preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult and pediatric population
- Trained on unit protocols before assuming charge nurse responsibilities
- Scrubs not provided; navy blue color required
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
