Registered Nurse (RN)
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in safeguarding, promoting, and enhancing health and wellness while preventing illness and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. This position includes advocacy for individuals and families, maintaining compliance with all standards of practice and professional development according to relevant state and national regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care by managing a group of patients as the primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignments and safety considerations.
- Educate patients and families about health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Utilize knowledge of pharmacology to administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policy.
- Contribute to productivity and resource utilization, including staffing and time management.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
- Engage actively in the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting improvement initiatives and participating in peer review practices.
- Pursue professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into clinical practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Perform duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role as assigned.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Education
- Required: Associate's degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Certifications & Licensure
- Required: Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- Additional unit-specific certifications as required.
- Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
Schedule Details
This position typically involves a schedule of 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM), with a commitment of 36 hours per week, including every other weekend.
Experience Requirements
Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of current experience working in an emergency department, along with previous travel nursing experience and knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
