Job Description

The Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency care, particularly in pediatric cases, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Assist with triage and patient assessments, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with policies.
  • Float to other units as necessary to meet patient care needs.

Unit Specifics

  • Unit composed of 64 beds, including areas for acute care, triage, trauma, and psych.
  • Common patient diagnoses include stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
  • Knowledge of specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department, with pediatric experience preferred.
  • Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC are mandatory.
  • Valid nursing license with active NY state registration.
  • Recent travel nursing experience is preferred.

Shift Information

Full-time position available with shifts from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed.
