Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Trauma Level 2+ experience and EPIC charting proficiency.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting within a hospital
  • Day shift schedule: 11:00AM-11:30PM
  • 36 hours per week across 3 shifts per week
  • Call requirement: 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, 13-hour shifts, must be onsite within an hour of call
  • 2-week nights rotation required for all travelers
  • No block scheduling available
  • Every other weekend shift required
  • Rotating holiday shift coverage required
  • EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
  • Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
  • TNCC certification highly preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

  • Serves as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, applying the nursing process and current clinical standards
  • Performs initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
  • Implements and modifies care plans based on ongoing patient assessment and evolving needs
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation to support care coordination across the healthcare team
  • Promotes patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, and families to foster a supportive care environment
  • Contributes to peer professional development through constructive feedback
  • Classified as a high-risk department assignment
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO may not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
