Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 18 months of ED experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

  • Level 4 Trauma and stroke-ready facility with 17 exam rooms and a 4-bed observation unit
  • Emergency Department treating post-surgical, CVA, sepsis, pneumonia, trauma, MI, pediatric, and obstetric emergency patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • 12-hour night shift, 1900-0730, 36 hours per week
  • No floating required
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Unit supported by ED techs, LPNs, charge nurse, phlebotomy, VAT team, US-guided IV trained RNs, RT, 24/7 hospitalist, and OT/PT/ST
  • Charts in Epic, uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing

Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC certifications required
  • Minimum 18 months of recent Emergency Department experience
  • Skilled in airway management, RSI, cardiac drips, code response, and CVA/STEMI management
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Middle name/initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
  • One professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

  • Orientation includes NEO and two 12-hour shifts on the unit
  • Charge nurse may carry a patient load and serves as resource nurse
  • Holiday coverage required every other holiday
  • Time off requests can be approved
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Free parking available
  • COVID vaccine required
  • No radius rule; local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • First-time travelers not considered for this role
  • Former Advocate Health employees must be separated at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignment
