Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
  • Location: Asheville, North Carolina, a scenic Blue Ridge Mountain community known for outdoor recreation, a vibrant arts scene, and a welcoming atmosphere
  • Assignment Length: 16 weeks, from October 19, 2026, through February 8, 2027
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Department: Approximately 101-bed Emergency Department
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Uniform: Navy scrubs

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience, including a minimum of 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
  • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department strongly preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications required before submission
  • CPI certification required before the start date
  • Ability to work collaboratively, coach teammates, and provide constructive feedback in real time
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
  • Availability to meet department scheduling needs, including every other weekend; block scheduling is not available

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and timely emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, prioritize care, administer medications, and monitor patient responses
  • Respond effectively to urgent and emergent clinical situations in a fast-paced Emergency Department
  • Collaborate with providers, technicians, clerks, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
  • Work across all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
  • Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation in Cerner and communicate patient updates throughout the visit
  • Support a positive patient experience through respectful communication, AIDET principles, and timely updates
  • Promote teamwork, contribute to a welcoming department culture, and support a diverse Asheville community
