Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Emergency Department / Emergency Room Nursing
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; night shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts, approximately 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
- Contract: 16-week travel nursing assignment
- Assignment Dates: September 23, 2026–January 13, 2027
- Department: Approximately 101-bed Emergency Department in a high-volume setting with more than 100,000 annual visits
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; block scheduling and special scheduling requests are not accommodated
- Documentation: Cerner
- Equipment: GE monitors and Baxter infusion pumps
- Uniform: Navy scrubs
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, including a minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department or Emergency Room RN experience
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department strongly preferred
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC required before submission
- CPI certification required before the first day of employment
- Strong teamwork, communication, and real-time coaching skills
- Ability to work throughout all areas of the Emergency Department and adapt to changing patient-care needs
- Commitment to respectful, culturally responsive, and patient-centered emergency care
Emergency Room RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to emergency patients across the lifespan
- Prioritize patient assessments, interventions, and reassessments in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with providers, technicians, clerks, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate emergency patient care
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Support care in all Emergency Department sections, including areas serving medical, behavioral health, and high-acuity patients
- Use Cerner to accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes
- Keep patients and families informed throughout the visit while demonstrating respectful, service-focused communication
- Update patient communication boards and provide clear handoffs to promote continuity of care
- Contribute to a welcoming, team-oriented department committed to serving a diverse, multicultural community
