Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department within a Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke center
- Start Date: September 23, 2026
- End Date: January 13, 2027
- Contract Length: Approximately 16 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; schedules must align with department needs, and block scheduling is not available
- Patient Population: Approximately 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratios, with higher ratios possible for behavioral health holds
- Technology: Cerner documentation, GE monitors, and Baxter pumps
- Uniform: Navy scrubs
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including a minimum of 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department preferred; Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke center experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications required before submission
- CPI certification required by the start of the assignment
- Ability to work in all areas of the Emergency Department and support changing department needs
- Strong communication, teamwork, coaching, and real-time feedback skills
- Commitment to respectful, patient-centered care and clear communication throughout each patient visit
Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions
- Perform patient assessments, prioritize care, administer medications, and monitor patient responses
- Work collaboratively with providers, technicians, clerks, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Adapt effectively across all Emergency Department areas, including varied patient acuity and behavioral health needs
- Use Cerner and department monitoring equipment to document care accurately and efficiently
- Keep patients and families informed while maintaining a respectful and supportive experience
- Update patient communication boards and provide timely status updates throughout each visit
- Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a teamwork-focused approach in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment
