Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; scheduling must support department needs, and block scheduling is unavailable
- Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
- Uniform: Navy scrubs
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional nursing experience, including a minimum of 1 year of recent emergency department experience
- Recent experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume emergency department strongly preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications required before submission
- CPI certification required before the start date
- Strong teamwork, communication, patient advocacy, and real-time coaching skills
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department
Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to emergency department patients across a broad range of acuity levels
- Care for patients in a department with approximately 101 beds and typical medical patient ratios of 4:1, with higher ratios possible for behavioral health holds
- Collaborate with providers, technicians, clerks, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate timely patient care
- Remain prepared to work throughout all emergency department sections as department needs require
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, and promptly recognize and respond to changes in clinical status
- Use Cerner and department equipment, including GE monitors and Baxter infusion pumps, according to established protocols
- Maintain a positive patient experience through respectful communication, AIDET practices, regular updates, and accurate information boards
- Support a welcoming, team-oriented environment while serving Asheville’s diverse community
