Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1, with ratios up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Uniform: Navy scrubs
  • Scheduling Note: Block scheduling and requested time off cannot be accommodated

Emergency Department RN Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
  • At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience; 2 years of RN experience is preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume emergency department; Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke center experience preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications required before submission
  • CPI certification required by the date of hire
  • Ability to work collaboratively, coach peers, and provide real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work throughout all areas of the Emergency Department
  • Strong patient communication skills and commitment to respectful, compassionate care

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to emergency department patients across a broad range of acuities
  • Complete assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient responses
  • Care for medical, trauma, stroke, behavioral health, and other emergency patient populations
  • Work effectively in all Emergency Department sections, including triage and treatment areas
  • Use cardiac monitoring equipment, GE monitors, and infusion pumps in accordance with department standards
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation in Cerner
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families, provide updates throughout the visit, and support a positive patient experience
  • Collaborate with nurses, technicians, unit clerks, providers, and multidisciplinary teams to promote efficient patient flow
  • Demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, and a team-focused approach in a fast-paced emergency care environment
