Travel Nursing Job Details

- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m.-7:15 a.m.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; block scheduling is not available, and schedules are based on department needs
- Department Environment: High-volume emergency department with approximately 101 beds, typically supporting 4:1 patient ratios and up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Technology: Cerner documentation, GE monitors, and Baxter pumps
- Uniform: Navy scrubs
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure appropriate for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience; 2 years of nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume emergency department preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications required before submission
- Current CPI certification required by the date of hire
- Ability to work collaboratively, coach and provide real-time feedback, and adapt to changing patient-care needs
- Flexibility to work throughout all areas of the Emergency Department
- Strong commitment to respectful communication, patient education, and culturally responsive care
Travel ER RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to emergency patients across the lifespan
- Perform focused assessments, triage support, ongoing monitoring, interventions, and reassessments
- Care for medical, surgical, trauma, stroke, behavioral health, and other emergent patient populations
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate provider or care team
- Administer medications, initiate treatments, assist with procedures, and operate department equipment according to policy
- Document patient care accurately in the Cerner electronic medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, technicians, clerks, and ancillary departments to support efficient patient flow
- Maintain clear communication with patients and families, provide updates throughout the visit, and promote a positive patient experience
- Support teamwork across all Emergency Department sections and contribute to a welcoming environment for a diverse community
