• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday or based on department needs
• Charting System: EPIC
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of emergency nursing experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience and prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS
• Strong skills in caring for critically ill patients and managing a wide variety of emergency department cases
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to life-threatening changes
• Experience with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration preferred
• SANE RN experience preferred
• Comfort working in a teaching hospital environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency room patients across all ages and acuity levels
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including those experiencing cardiac arrest, stroke, trauma, and other emergencies
• Administer and titrate drips as needed, including vasopressors, cardiac medications, and antihypertensives
• Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, techs, respiratory therapy, and the broader care team to deliver efficient patient care
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition while maintaining safe, effective workflow
• Support patient flow in a busy emergency department with variable acuity and trauma presentations
• Assist with occasional floating as a help-all resource when needed
• Document care accurately in EPIC and follow department policies and protocols
