Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a high-volume Level II trauma center night shift position requiring at least 2.5 years of large-volume ER experience.

Details

  • Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
  • Facility is a STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified facility handling high patient volume exceeding 90,000 visits annually
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Weekend shifts required per department needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • Candidates will float within the hospital based on census
  • Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
  • Minimum 2.5 years of ER experience required in a large Level II trauma center with high patient turnover
  • Large volume ER experience of over 90,000 visits annually required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy
  • Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience administering continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic trauma care
  • One professional reference required within 2 years
  • Current Nursys license verification required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a broad patient population including shock/trauma, pediatric, and orthopedic cases
  • Exposure to high-acuity cases such as gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, and near drowning incidents preferred
  • Neuro-trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
  • First-time travelers are accepted with at least 2.5 years of qualifying experience
  • Previous permanent staff at the facility are not eligible for consideration
  • Time off requests must be pre-approved by the manager and submitted at the time of consideration
  • Holiday time off cannot be guaranteed and is reviewed separately closer to the holiday season
  • Local candidates accepted, though at a lower rate for those within 50 miles of the facility
