Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a general Emergency Department position requiring active IL licensure, 2+ years of ED experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in a general Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Schedule includes Friday, Saturday, and one additional weekday as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
  • Any EMR/charting system experience accepted

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license required and in hand at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • NRP certification preferred
  • AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted
  • Experience with a broad range of ED skills including trauma care, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, IV therapy, and psychiatric emergencies

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
  • Perform skills such as EKG interpretation, splinting, triage, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per professional standards
  • Previous permanent or PRN employees of the facility must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a travel candidate
  • Ideally no more than 5 non-holiday RTO days requested
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Travel pairs are not accepted
