Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010

- Shift: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; 12-hour day shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating every other weekend

- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4 to 1:5
- Patient Population: Birth through geriatric

Travel ER Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure applicable to North Carolina practice
- At least 2 years of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS or ENPC certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Recent Cerner experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Demonstrated ability to provide calm, compassionate care to patients and families in high-acuity situations
- Ability to float or provide clinical support in areas where competencies are established
Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan.
- Rapidly assess, triage, monitor, and prioritize patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and critical-care needs.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to time-sensitive conditions, including stroke, STEMI, and trauma.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor clinical status, and promptly escalate changes in condition.
- Use critical-care equipment and follow established emergency and resuscitation protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team in a high-volume emergency department.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in Cerner.
- Support patients and families with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication.
- Adapt to changing department needs and assist in other appropriate clinical areas when requested.
