Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a CA RN license at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Epic charting system required
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• CEN certification preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Cerner proficiency preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required within the last 12 months
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, chest tube insertion/management, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in intubation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Skilled in neurological care including CVA management
• Proficient in administering emergency medications and procedural sedation monitoring
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
• Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or proof of scheduled booster appointment prior to start date

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care in a combined adult/pediatric ED setting
• Completes non-billable training modules during pre-start and annually, with transcripts recorded via UC Learning
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for a rehire eligibility check
• All requested RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO cannot be scheduled within the first two weeks of the assignment start date
