Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring TNCC, ACLS, NIH, MOAB, and BLS certifications.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center emergency department seeing adult patients including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma cases
  • Approximately 170 visits per day across 53 rooms/beds
  • Non-critical patient ratio of 3:1 (4:1 with hallway coverage during callouts), critical patients 2:1, medical boarders 5:1
  • 12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15, with 36 hours per week available
  • Every other weekend required
  • No call or float requirements
  • Uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

  • Active NC or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIHSS, MOAB, and BLS
  • Required skills: IV starts, triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation
  • Epic charting experience required
  • ENPC certification preferred
  • Trauma experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to adult patients including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma presentations
  • Orientation is 36 hours, conducted weekly
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start due to specialty requirements
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
  • Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details for facility approval
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment, and no additional RTO after signing
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Travel pairs are allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
  • No block scheduling available
  • 20+ week contracts accepted, with a hard stop of February 27, 2027, to support the unit through the holidays
