Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring TNCC, ACLS, NIH, MOAB, and BLS certifications.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center emergency department seeing adult patients including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma cases
- Approximately 170 visits per day across 53 rooms/beds
- Non-critical patient ratio of 3:1 (4:1 with hallway coverage during callouts), critical patients 2:1, medical boarders 5:1
- 12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15, with 36 hours per week available
- Every other weekend required
- No call or float requirements
- Uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIHSS, MOAB, and BLS
- Required skills: IV starts, triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation
- Epic charting experience required
- ENPC certification preferred
- Trauma experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to adult patients including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma presentations
- Orientation is 36 hours, conducted weekly
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start due to specialty requirements
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
- Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details for facility approval
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment, and no additional RTO after signing
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Travel pairs are allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
- No block scheduling available
- 20+ week contracts accepted, with a hard stop of February 27, 2027, to support the unit through the holidays
