Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy Level II Trauma Emergency Department, requiring at least 2.5 years of high-volume ER experience and a CA RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in a Level II Trauma Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center handling high-acuity trauma, cardiac, and neurological emergencies
• High patient volume with over 90,000 annual ER visits
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend shifts required per departmental needs
• Floating within the hospital based on census, no floating to other units
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic for documentation

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2.5 years of ER experience in a large Level II Trauma Center required
• Experience in a high-volume ER (over 90,000 annual visits) required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Skilled in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Nursys report required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration
• One professional reference required, dated within 2 years

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and pediatric cases
• Manage high-turnover, high-acuity patient population typical of a major trauma center
• Preferred experience with neuro-trauma cases including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury
• Preferred experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Preferred pediatric experience including head injury and near drowning cases
• Preferred ortho trauma experience
• RTO requests must be pre-approved by the manager and submitted at time of consideration
• Holiday RTO cannot be guaranteed and is reviewed separately closer to the holiday season
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet the 2.5-year experience requirement
• Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
