Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Tuscaloosa, AL

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holidays as required. 36 or 48 hours per week available. Block scheduling options may be accommodated (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday).

  • Emergency Department treats more than 60,000 patients annually across all age groups
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
  • Work alongside a highly trained team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff providing 24/7 comprehensive emergency medical services
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week with overtime available after 48 hours
  • Flexible scheduling options with potential for block shifts

Requirements:

  • Active Alabama or Compact RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree required
  • Minimum 18 months of experience working under highest professional license level; 1 year of emergency department specialty experience required (2 years preferred)
  • Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
  • Must pass Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding (2 attempts provided)
  • Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
  • Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
