Registered Nurse - ED Flow Navigator

Location: Asheville, NC

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse for the ED Flow Navigator role in our Emergency Department. This position is essential in managing patient flow and ensuring high-quality care for our diverse patient population.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Staffing: Including Techs for cardiac monitoring and clerical support
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Floating Policy: Must be open to floating to all sections within the ED

Key Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow within the Emergency Department
• Ensure a positive patient experience by adhering to AIDET principles and respectful behavior
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide effective care
• Maintain updated patient information throughout their visit

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center or high-volume ED with over 100,000 visits annually is preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to provide real-time feedback and coaching
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

Certifications Required

• ACLS (before start date)
• BLS (before start date)
• PALS (before start date)
• TNCC (before start date)
• CPI (before start date)
• NIHSS (before start date)
• ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
