Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CO or compact license for a fast-paced Level 1/2 trauma center on a 3P-3A shift.

Details

  • 40-bed Emergency Department averaging 145 patients daily
  • Staffed with RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, Nurse Externs, and Unit Secretaries
  • Patient ratio of 4:1
  • Uses IV Pumps, EKG machines, U/S machines, Belmont, Lifepack, and GE Transport Monitors
  • EMR: Meditech, prior experience preferred
  • Shift: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
  • Minimum 1-2 years current acute care ED RN experience
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI Blue card
  • Trauma Level 1 or 2 experience preferred
  • No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Perform rapid ESI triage, comprehensive nursing assessments, and focused reassessments
  • Manage sepsis and stroke screening and interventions
  • Respond to Level 1 and 2 trauma activations and mass casualty incidents
  • Administer blood products and assist with procedural sedation
  • Provide pediatric emergency care and behavioral health crisis intervention
  • Perform EKGs, defibrillation, IV insertion, blood and blood culture collection, and medication administration
  • Assist with suturing, staples, wound care, and splinting
  • Ideal candidates are experienced ER nurses who are team players, motivated, and ambitious
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
