  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed
  • Shift Pattern: Every other weekend; holidays as required
  • Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680-$1,770
  • Setting: Emergency Department in a high-acuity trauma and stroke center

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a compact license
  • No temporary licenses accepted
  • Minimum 18 months to 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
  • Associate degree in Nursing required
  • Current AHA ACLS certification
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • Current AHA PALS certification
  • NIHSS certification or Red Cross equivalent
  • Current TNCC certification
  • NURSYS verification required
  • Must be comfortable working in a patient-facing, clinical environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled, compassionate care to emergency patients of all ages
  • Assess, triage, and prioritize patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting
  • Deliver high-quality care to critical, trauma, and general emergency patients
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff
  • Maintain strong clinical judgment while working in a high-volume ED environment
  • Support safe patient flow and efficient throughput in a busy emergency department
  • Float to other units or hospitals as needed based on operational demands
  • Follow facility policies, safety standards, and documentation requirements
