Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced freestanding emergency department with an average patient ratio of 3:1 (low acuity up to 5:1; pediatrics managed via team nursing)
  • Perform IV starts and medication administration, including scanning patients and medications per unit policy every time
  • Assist with sedations and pediatric patient care
  • Utilize Meditech EMR and Alaris infusion equipment throughout the shift
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, physicians, midlevel providers, techs, and unit clerks
  • Maintain all required certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, TNCC, and CPI Blue Card) throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license valid in Kansas (or compact eligibility)
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience
  • BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
  • CPI Blue Card required
  • Prior travel nursing experience or experience in a large facility emergency department

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification
  • Experience with Meditech EMR
  • Prior travel assignments or experience in emergency departments with more than 52 beds
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in a high-volume, diverse patient environment
