Join our dedicated team as an Emergency Department RN in Tuscaloosa, AL. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing comprehensive emergency medical services to all age groups. Our Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 by a highly trained team, ensuring we meet the needs of our community effectively.

As an ED RN, you will be expected to float to other units and hospitals as necessary. The role requires you to be available for 36 or 48 hours per week, including holidays and every other weekend. Our facility is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center and a Level II Stroke Center, treating over 60,000 patients annually. You will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Float to other units and hospitals as required.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients.

Education Requirements:

• Associate degree in nursing.

Certifications Required:

• AHA ACLS
• AHA BLS
• AHA PALS
• TNCC
• Secure on-site certification

Licenses Required:

• Registered Nurse State of Alabama or Compact license (No Temp Licenses accepted).

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of specialty; however, 18 months of experience will be considered if working under the highest level of professional license.

Parking is available for staff, and our EMR system is Meditech. The dress code consists of solid navy scrubs.
