Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and AHA-approved ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH certifications.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a 137-bed acute care hospital with a Joint Commission accredited Primary Stroke Center
- 21-bed unit includes 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Patient population includes all ages
- Treats common diagnoses including COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
- Uses emergency equipment and Cerner EHR
- Shift schedule from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
- Floating required on an as-needed basis
- No call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB), all AHA-approved
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- ADN required
- Experience in emergency nursing, trauma, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood products, and basic telemetry/EKG required
- Psych ER or emergency medicine experience preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration
- Copies of required certifications must be provided
Additional Information
- Provide fast-paced emergency nursing care in a dynamic, team-oriented environment requiring strong multi-tasking skills
- Report to the ED Nurse Manager
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- Scrubs of any color accepted; open-toed footwear, spandex pants, and sweatshirts not permitted
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Must not be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis
