Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a Level III Trauma Center requiring TNCC and PALS certifications along with 2 years of recent emergency department experience.

Details

  • Work in a 54-bed Emergency Department that is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
  • Treat patients of all ages across a full spectrum of emergency medical conditions
  • Facility treats more than 60,000 patients annually
  • Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
  • Mid shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
  • Required to work every other weekend and every holiday
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals within the health system
  • Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary or pending licenses accepted)
  • Current certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale or Red Cross equivalent
  • TNCC certification required
  • Associate's degree in nursing required
  • 2 years of experience required, though 18 months of experience will be considered if working under the highest level of professional license
  • Must have 2 years of recent experience in the specialty

Additional Information

  • Work alongside a collaborative team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff
  • Dress code requires solid navy scrubs
  • Local candidates are welcome to apply at the same pay rate with no mileage restrictions
  • Candidates must complete an on-site test in addition to an online pre-test as part of the hiring process
  • Virtual orientation will include competency-based training modules
  • Candidates with any license history issues, past or current, will not be considered
