Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of large hospital trauma experience and an active AL or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 54-bed Emergency Department at a state designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
  • Treat a high-volume patient population of more than 60,000 patients per year across all age groups
  • Nurse to patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every holiday coverage required
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
  • Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted)
  • Associate degree in nursing required
  • Current certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS (or Red Cross equivalent), NIH Stroke Scale, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, working under the highest level of professional license
  • 2 years of experience in a large hospital setting required
  • Trauma experience required
  • No prior license disciplinary actions allowed, past or current

  • On-site testing required in addition to an online pre-test
  • Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
