Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Trauma Level II, Primary Stroke and STEMI Center requiring TNCC and NIH Stroke Certification.

Details

  • Fast-paced Emergency Department in a Trauma Level II, Primary Stroke, and STEMI Center serving 7 local counties
  • Unit supports a 4:1 RN ratio in the main ED and 3:1 RN ratio in the Vertical Care (fast-track) area
  • 29-bed ED with 8 additional hallway beds available during surges, one dedicated Trauma Room, and 6 Vertical Care rooms
  • Pediatric Readiness Facility with a large multidisciplinary team of over 120 associates
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Rotating weekends and two major holidays required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Texas or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
  • TNCC certification required, renewed every 4 years
  • NIH Stroke Certification required, updated per group schedule
  • NRP certification required (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
  • Ascension CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) certification required, renewed every 2 years
  • Current license and Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency and trauma care within a high-acuity, high-volume ED setting
  • Collaborate with a large team of physicians and advanced practice providers across shifts
  • Scrub color requirement: navy blue top and bottom
  • Ascension-branded shirt required on payday Fridays
  • On-site cafeteria available with extended hours on weekdays and weekends
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted, subject to a radius rule that may affect pay rate
  • Only one submission allowed per candidate across all Ascension facilities system-wide
