Description

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a 12-week contract requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department-Trauma unit of a hospital setting
• Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
• 12-week assignment with a scheduled shift of 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM
• Utilize cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Document patient care in the electronic health record

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification (AHA) may be required
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on acuity
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as ordered
• Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status for signs of deterioration
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary staff
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Follow infection-control and medication-safety protocols
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate due to facility radius rules
• Optional Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) training available
