Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN with a minimum of three years of nursing experience, EPIC charting proficiency, and trauma level 2 experience for a night shift assignment.
Details
- Emergency Department setting at a hospital
- Night shift schedule, 1:00PM-1:00AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating holiday shift coverage
- 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with expectation to be onsite within an hour of call
- 2-week nights rotation required of all travelers
- No block scheduling available
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Trauma level 2 experience preferred
- TNCC certification preferred
Additional Information
- Serve as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, applying the nursing process to assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
- Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to develop and modify individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient documentation to support continuity of care
- Identify and report safety hazards to promote a safe environment for patients and staff
- Provide constructive feedback to peers to support professional development
- Classified as a high-risk department assignment
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Returning workers must complete a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning to this health system
