Join a leading acute-care hospital as an Emergency Department (ER) RN in Concord, NC. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and collaborate with a skilled healthcare team.

Unit Information:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of ED experience required (Resource Team)
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Trauma level 3 – GSW, Stabbing, MVA, Falls, Stroke, Heart Failure, Chest pain, patients requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, Cardiac Cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5 max (acuity dependent), CNA: 1:7

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required
  • TNCC preferred

Skills Required:

  • Trauma experience
  • Stroke experience
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Conscious sedation
  • PIV starts
  • Chest tube management
  • NGT placement
  • Drain/tube management
  • Critical care drips
  • Blood administration

Support within the Department:

  • CNA – ratios vary
  • Receptionist/HUC
  • Charge nurse, 24/7 – may or may not have patients
  • IV/VAT Team
  • RT, 24/7
  • Hospitalist, 24/7
  • ED Physicians

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pump: Alaris
  • Med dispensing: Omnicell
  • Monitors: Phillips

Floating: Will be required to float per regional needs – will require floating to all facilities within scope of practice. If floating mid-shift, traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock).

Orientation: NEO, 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • Shift times: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
  • No call for travelers
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
