Job Summary:
The EEG Technologist Registered position is located in an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit within a healthcare facility. The role involves performing electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures, Evoked Potentials, and Nerve Conduction Studies. The technologist is responsible for patient preparation, data acquisition, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining accurate EEG recordings. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with nurses and physicians to support patient care, along with mentoring student technologists.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Daytime shift, Monday through Friday, 0700-1530, with approximately every 6th weekend working 0700-1930 on Saturday and Sunday, including three compensatory days off during a 13-week assignment.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of an associate's degree in Applied Science or related science. Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Clinical Neurophysiology Technologist graduate, or current CNT student. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. EEG or CLTM registry is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership abilities, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to adapt rapidly, work independently, and mentor student technologists. Competency in neurodiagnostic procedural testing, electrode application for adult and pediatric EEGs using the standard 10-20 or 10-10 systems, monitoring and maintaining EEG recordings, responding to seizures, troubleshooting equipment, and assisting with SPECT injections.
- Additional Information: The role entails acting as a liaison between nurses and physicians, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support patient care. Ability to monitor and maintain EEG recordings and respond appropriately to seizures is essential.
