RN – Emergency Department (ED)
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Specialty: Emergency Room / ED
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant RN experience
EMR: EPIC
Trauma: Level II or higher preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and providers.
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to orders and protocols.
- Continuously evaluate patients and modify the plan of care as needed.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation in EPIC.
- Follow ED-specific nursing procedures, standards, and protocols.
- Promote patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety hazards.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with providers, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
- Provide constructive feedback and support the professional development of colleagues.
- Maintain required departmental competencies and stay current with nursing practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
- ASN required
- Illinois RN License in good standing
- BLS – AHA
- ACLS – AHA
- PALS – AHA
- EPIC experience required
Preferred
- BSN
- TNCC – Highly Preferred
- Previous experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher
