Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring an active NY RN license, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.

Details

  • Acute care Emergency Department serving all ages with 25+ beds plus hallway beds
  • NYS Designated Stroke Center
  • Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5
  • Uses EPIC EMR
  • Day shift schedule, 7a-7p, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation required every other weekend
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • No floating requirement
  • Charge nurse and nurse aides present on unit, charge role not assigned to travelers
  • 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalist support available
  • Pharmacy not available 24/7
  • IV team not available on unit

Requirements

  • Active New York State RN license in good standing required
  • ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Telemetry skills required including strip reading
  • Experience with drips and ventilators required
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a stroke center setting
  • Floor-specific orientation provided
  • Any scrub color permitted
  • RTO must be submitted along with candidate profile for consideration
