Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment at a Level II trauma center requiring at least one year of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

  • 101-bed Emergency Care Center at a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
  • High-volume ED with over 100,000 annual visits
  • Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Support staff includes cardiac monitoring techs, triage techs, and unit clerks on days and nights
  • Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
  • Documentation via Cerner
  • Night shift schedule, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend required; block scheduling not accommodated
  • No floating outside the ED, but must be willing to float to all ED sections

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC prior to consideration; CPI required by date of hire
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
  • Previous HCA experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to give real-time coaching and feedback
  • Flexibility to work across all ED sections
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

  • Provide emergency care to a diverse, multicultural patient population representing over 120 languages
  • Follow AIDET and patient experience standards, including updating patient boards and keeping patients informed throughout their visit
  • Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
  • Department known for strong teamwork and a welcoming culture
  • Attendance policy provided on first day of assignment
  • Assignment includes holiday coverage with no accommodations for RTO or special scheduling requests
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
