Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Room position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Emergency Room setting within a hospital
  • Full-time night shift, 12-hour shifts
  • Rotating weekend requirement
  • Some holiday commitment required

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC or TNS certifications required
  • American Heart certifications preferred, American Red Cross accepted for BLS
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, 4+ years preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
  • New graduates not accepted
  • EKG test with a score of 80% or higher required prior to consideration
  • Two current professional references from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge in the ER required within the last year
  • At least one travel reference preferred

Additional Information

  • On-site EKG test required on Day 1 of orientation; must pass to continue assignment
  • Orientation includes Epic testing and floor orientation
  • Accepts local candidates at the same rate
  • Returning permanent or per diem staff must be away for 12 months before being eligible as a traveler
  • RTO limited based on contract length: up to 3 days for 8-week contracts, up to 7 days for 13-week contracts
  • Hospital conducts a brief interview of about 10-15 minutes with candidates
