We are seeking a dedicated and professional Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team at a leading acute-care hospital in Urbana, IL. As a staff RN, you will assume responsibility for a group of patients during your designated shifts, providing high-quality care through the nursing process and utilizing the latest technology and resources available.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.
  • Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure integration of information for the healthcare team.
  • Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs.
  • Implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
  • Modify plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
  • Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
  • Communicate directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
  • Identify own learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solutions.
  • Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies.

Department Specific Job Functions:

  • Implement procedures and theories specific to ED nursing.
  • Perform patient assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with providers, family, and patients.
  • Execute plan of care and nursing interventions.
  • Modify care plans based on continuous assessment.
  • Be responsible for patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions, adhering to safety standards, and correcting/reporting safety hazards.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healthy and healing work environment.
  • Provide feedback to peers to aid in professional development, increase knowledge base, and problem-solve.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records/documentation.

Comments: EVENINGS: 1:00PM-1:00AM; 1 CALL SHIFT PER 6-WEEK SCHEDULE - 3 12HR SHIFTS PER WEEK - 2 WEEK NIGHTSHIFT ROTATION PER CONTRACT - NO BLOCK SCHEDULING.
