Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950–$2,060
  • Location: Calais, Maine
  • Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department
  • Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week; shifts may vary
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: October 13, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 12, 2027

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Maine or authorization to practice while licensure by endorsement is pending
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire
  • At least 1 year of acute care or emergency nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Strong patient assessment, emergency nursing, communication, computer, and clinical documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly and efficiently in urgent and emergent situations

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and high-quality emergency nursing care to patients and families
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, prioritize care needs, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond rapidly to urgent and emergent situations
  • Administer medications and treatments according to established standards, physician orders, and clinical protocols
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic patient documentation
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Support a patient- and family-centered care environment while upholding professional nursing standards
