Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position in a busy community hospital emergency department treating all patient age groups.

Details

• Community hospital Emergency Department caring for all patient age groups from neonates through geriatrics
• Average daily census of 130-150 patients with 21 rooms and 31 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Weekend coverage required every other Friday and Saturday night
• Uses Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Documentation completed in Cerner

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Central line care and management experience preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors preferred
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience preferred
• CVA/neurological patient care experience preferred
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Pediatric emergency department experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across general adult and pediatric populations in a combined ED setting
• Orientation lasts 36-48 hours
• Scrubs are provided
• First-time travelers considered if they have 2-3 years of experience and either Epic or Cerner experience
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
