Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting, serving patients across all age ranges from infant to geriatric
  • Manage a diverse patient caseload including complex, multi-system diagnoses with a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
  • Work rotating night and evening shifts (19:00–07:30 / 15:00–03:30), with primary need currently on night shift; rotation is based on departmental scheduling needs
  • Fulfill required weekend coverage on an every-other-weekend basis, as well as holidays as scheduled
  • Float within the Emergency Department specialty and to sister ED facilities as needed; travelers are first to float
  • Maintain active certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale; CPI certification to be completed during onboarding

Required Qualifications

  • Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
  • BLS and ACLS certifications – AHA only
  • PALS certification – AHA only
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
  • Must be comfortable floating within scope and specialty with no restrictions; travelers are first to float
  • Must maintain a permanent address of at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • NRP certification (NRP or AAP accepted)
  • TNCC certification
  • Experience in high-acuity, multi-system emergency care environments
