Job Description
Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint Hospital, is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a community hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients presenting with emergency medical conditions.
- Provide nursing care for patients with chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, and other acute conditions.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical status.
- Administer medications and perform nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver timely, effective patient care.
- Float to other units within the nurse’s skillset as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
- Current Pennsylvania RN license or applicable compact license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Ability to care for patients of all ages.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
Facility & Unit Details
- Facility Type: Community hospital.
- Trauma Level: Level IV.
- Emergency Department Beds: 9.
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5.
- Patient Population: All ages.
- EHR: Epic.
- Equipment: Baxter IV pumps and GE monitors.
- Scrub Colors: Grey, black, or blue.
- Dress Code: Scrubs and closed-toe shoes required.
Schedule Details
- 12-hour shifts.
- Every other weekend, including Friday and Saturday nights, as specified by the facility.
- No on-call requirements.
- Floating within the nurse’s skillset.
- Orientation is held weekly on Mondays.
Pennsylvania Clearance Requirements
All required screenings must be completed and cleared before the start date. Fingerprints must be submitted before the candidate can be cleared.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.
- Department of Human Services fingerprinting.
- FBI/Department of Aging fingerprinting; prints completed within the last two years may be accepted.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH clearance for employment. Volunteer clearances are not accepted.
Important: Candidates should complete all applicable Pennsylvania clearances and fingerprinting requirements as early as possible to avoid delays in onboarding.
