Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 trauma teaching facility, requiring a TX or compact license and 2+ years of ED experience.

Details

  • Level 1 trauma teaching facility located in downtown Austin
  • 53-bed emergency department with annual volume of 55,000-60,000 patients
  • Staffing model includes 2 charge nurses, physician and nursing residency program, with clerks, transporters, and PCTs
  • Likely holding/boarding of inpatients within the department
  • Uses Cerner EHR system
  • Evening shift 15:00-03:00
  • 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • ACLS certification (AHA) required
  • PALS certification (AHA) required
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Full SS# and DOB required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans while communicating patient condition updates
  • Coordinate care across disciplines and manage physician/nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
  • Nursing staff required to wear navy top and bottom scrubs
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate based on facility-specific radius rules
  • First-time travelers may be considered
